Barn Doors are a huge trend right now and have been for the past 8 or so years! We’ve put in so many barn doors in our clients’ homes – from bathrooms to bedrooms, studies to laundry rooms – we realize there are many things to consider when deciding on the right one for you, that we knew we needed to share our expertise in this series.

We’ll be covering:
-barn doors for every decorating style, from rustic to modern and everything in between
-the differences between a barn door and pocket door
-the cost – do you want a completely custom door or one from Home Depot that you can customize yourself?
-the hardware associated with different styles
-how to get creative with your barn door and use it as an art display space
As our population swings towards smaller spaces – Baby Boomers downsizing, Tiny Homes and Efficient Living – we have been faced with the challenge of storage and space saving.
For example, just this week we met with a kitchen remodel client. The existing pantry is tucked behind the kitchen with floor to ceiling shelving behind the current swinging door. As we kept talking, the functionality began to take shape and realizing that a more open pantry made more sense for this busy family of four.
We suggested a barn door to close off the space when necessary and it’ll be tucked behind the double oven when access is more important! This idea thrilled them and we are well on our way to designing a custom door with a little flair just for them!
